The furthur of North Korea Nuclear issue full of high uncertaintity. Though North Korea claimed to return six parties talk in a unofficial way, the ball still on US side.
The core issue of North Korea Nuclear question is a choice between security and idealogical primacy: if US wants to have a nuclear free Korea peninsula, it must repect North Korea's normal security need, unless US has prepared to afford another main theater war in the region which defenitely will destroy one Capital or may be two of his key alliances in the region. Bush's administration keep in shifting between two goals: the non-proliferation vs. US primacy. That's the question why we lost possible oppourtunity windows on the sovling of North Korea nuclear issue.
The windows used to be opened during the first two round of six parties talking: at that time, North Korea still playing a nuclear card and it still have enough basic trust of China. But US stick to refuse give basic seurity protection to North Korean, stick to refuse to recognize the existence of DPRK, and try to transform the six parties talking to 5:1talking, which means a kind of coalition based on willingness to push greater pressure to North Korea. The only result of such kind of policy is make North Korea lost any possible illusion about the furthur peaceful resolution of the nulcear issue.
Of course, no one would like the dictartorship in North Korea, but it's still to make necessary and serious compromise in the negotiation, unless US already has enough prepare to disarment and regime change in the Peninsula. Actually according to the basic experience in the practice of world non-proliferation, using of force never is the best measure to realize the ends.
